A CHOIR will perform a special concert of sea-faring music in Dorchester this weekend.

Enjoy the Casterbridge Male Voice Choir's All At Sea at the United Church, South Street, Dorchester, on Saturday, March 9 at 7.30pm.

This popular local choir will be presenting an exciting and varied mix of sea-going music in conjunction with The Old Gaffers, from Devon.

The Old Gaffers have been rocking assorted boats since 2010, with their own brand of humour, no nonsense, no gimmicks, sea shanties and sea songs.

They have entertained audiences at festivals and concerts throughout the country, have appeared on local and national TV, and have recorded three successful CDs.

They have morphed into the present crew of 10 with an average age of 48 (Sorry - That should be waist size!), and with an enthusiastic Groupie fan base, they are going from strength to strength.

They have raised many thousands of pounds for charity, including the RNLI, Devon Air Ambulance, Prostate Cancer, Help for Heroes, Children’s Hospice SW and had a great time doing it!

Find them at oldgaffers.co.uk or on Facebook Old Gaffers Shanty Crew

Under the direction of Julia MacFarlane and accompanied by Louise Dukes the concert will be in support of the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance. Tickets are £5 and are available from the Tourist Information Office, South Walks House, Charles St. Dorchester and also from Harmony Music,The Forum Centre, Trinity St. Dorchester or on the door.
