MARVEL at printmaking techniques by viewing an exhibition at Lyme Regis's Town Mill and Courtyard Galleries from February 7 to 27
As anyone who’s ever tried it knows, printmaking is a highly skilful art form that offers its practitioners numerous ways of working, from the exceedingly detailed and time consuming to the immediate and serendipitous.
And whichever process is used, from monotypes to etchings, the resulting image will be very distinct from what drawing or painting alone can achieve.
At the Malthouse and Courtyard Galleries of Lyme Regis’s Town Mill you’ll be able to marvel at the whole gamut of printmaking techniques, as more than 50 both emerging and well-established printmakers from the south west - many from Exeter’s Double Elephant Print Workshop - take part in the fourth Printmakers' Open.
This special showcase will be open daily from 10.30am until 4.30pm, admission is free and further details can be found at townmillarts.co.uk
And if a visit to the Open piques your interest in printmaking, you may want to consider taking a workshop or course at Double Elephant in Exeter (See doubleelephant.org.uk)
