FOLLOW the yellow brick road to Thomas Hardye School to see its new production of The Wizard Of Oz.

It will be performed at the Dorchester school on January 30, 31 and February 1 at 7pm.

Cast members and the backstage crew are putting the finishing touches this musical production.

The show promises to be thoroughly entertaining, featuring a cast and crew of more than 100 students.

Tom Bruton, director of music, said: “The school has a long tradition of performing musicals and we are very excited to be taking on such an ambitious project this year.

"When selecting the musical we wanted to find a show that was loved and had opportunities to involve as many students as possible. Our school also has an excellent orchestra and we thought it would be wonderful to produce a show this year that allowed us to use them as the accompanying ensemble. The students involved have risen to the challenge and we’re excited for our curtain-up on Wednesday.”

Leads in the show are Lucy Breakwell (Dorothy), Aaron Boardman (Lion), Zaq Thompson (Tinman), Lewis Ford (Scarecrow), Connie Morgan (Glinda) Molly Dunne (West Witch) and Susie King (Wizard of Oz).

Connie Morgan (Glinda) said: “I am really looking forward to the show. It has been a really fun experience and we can’t wait for show week!”
