A TRIPLE bill of shows is being put on at the Lyric Theatre in Bridport by Arts University Bournemouth graduates.

Bournemouth’s Head to Toe Theatre and AUB Theatre Ensemble are coming together for the performances, which can be seen on Saturday, January 26.

The triple bill, presented at 4pm and 8pm will be followed by a Q&A session.

The first piece, MAN UP!, is a spoken word, physical theatre chorus piece. It challenges the roles of masculinity and feminism within society. It looks at different arguments and attitudes towards the subjectivity of women within communities today. Performed by a strong chorus of women and only two men in the cast, this piece poses questions and food for thought as they explore power, conflict and divide.

The second piece, What is Art? demonstrates the political divide between cultures, communities and individual people.

Performed by a chorus of varied actors (European, African, LGBTQ, Mature etc) the diversity and inclusiveness of this show absurdly challenges stereotypes, discrimination and censorship. It focuses on the meaning of art and how it can bring people and communities together.

Finally, Love Difficult is Head To Toe's second professional body of work. It focuses on three individuals' stories and experiences of love; they embark on a journey of self-discovery, value, loss and communication. They expose themselves to each other as they take a look at how different people love and what personal barriers are in the way of experiencing that ‘true love’ everyone is supposed to desire.

Head To Toe Theatre is a professional graduate company from dance and acting students of Arts University Bournemouth. Set up by Kieran Luxton during his second year of study, Head To Toe has been working with different communities across the south west in making theatre. They are committed to making theatre that is accessible to all audiences but also offers workshops available to all students, schools and arts institutions.

Also set up by Kieran Luxton, the AUB Theatre Ensemble offers cross-course collaboration in creating new and exciting work. The students involved get a chance to explore and develop their skills as a creative as each term they work towards different projects from theatre, film and much more. Working with AUB Alumni continues the expansion and creativity of graduates in the south west.
