BROADWAY star Victoria Regan has joined ballroom expert Gary Edwards to judge the UK Ballroom & Latin Dance Championships in Dorset this month.

After securing the US Latin Championship at 23, Victoria Regan won the Canadian Ballroom and Latin Dance Champion five times, the North American 10 Dance Championship and was also a British Latin finalist. Her Broadway and film credits include: 42nd Street, Grand Hotel and A Chorus Line. She and Gary are global ambassadors for Arthur Murray Dance Studios which has 272 studios globally and is at the forefront of a move to encourage inclusivity in dance.

Gary Edwards has won 30 Latin and Ballroom World Championships and is an international judge who was tipped to be Len Goodman’s replacement as head judge on Strictly Come Dancing last year. He has famously taught dance to Michael Jackson, Lionel Richie, Whitney Houston and MC Hammer, and more recently has been teaching former servicemen to dance.

Now Gary and Victoria have launched #GetBritainDancing, a campaign which is promoting the physical and mental health benefits of dance for the disabled, young and elderly, former servicemen and those living with dementia.

To this end, Victoria has flown in from the US to lend her support to Gary and the Arthur Murray Dance troop who are currently touring the country visiting different communities.

n The UK Ballroom & Latin Dance Championships take place at the BIC on January 16 to 17.
