LEGENDARY pop band Squeeze have announced that they will be back on the road next year with support from eighties band, Heaven 17.

The Difford And Tilbrook Songbook 2019 tour includes a date in Bournemouth.

The songwriting duo will play their extensive list of hits as well as some rare, lesser known gems from their back catalogue and solo careers.

“I am over the moon to be announcing the 2019 tour with Squeeze,” says frontman Glenn Tilbrook (pictured).

“We’ve had something of a renaissance in the last few years, and look forward to this continuing, as we will play a set of songs that are both new, contemporary and as innovative as people have come to expect from us, along with the old beauties.”

He added: “I’m also excited to have Heaven 17 with us, what an extraordinary time we will have!”

The duo’s first release in 1978, Take Me I’m Yours, blasted Squeeze into the forefront of the UK music scene followed by a number of hits such as Cool For Cats, Goodbye Girl, Pulling Mussels From a Shell and Tempted.

But by 1997, Squeeze were out of the charts and their career, like the title of one of their best-loved hits, was Up The Junction.

Ten years later the pair started writing music again and were back on the road following the release of their album The Knowledge. Glenn said at the time that they have become more diligent on writing and recording music than ever.

Squeeze will perform at Bournemouth Pavilion on Monday, November 11 in 2019. Visit website bhlivetickets.co.uk.
