GYPSY jazz will transform an arts venue into a Parisian café.

Petites Annonces' Jazz Café at Bridport Arts Centre will take people on a musical journey on Friday, December 14 at 8pm.

The journey is inspired by the gypsy jazz of Django Reinhardt and the Hot Club de France, forgotten French chansons from Charles Trenet to Georges Brassens, and Gypsy jazz classics.

Vocalist Jipe Gerardin leads a band with no fewer than three guitars, plus bass and violin! Established in 2005, Petites Annonces has played at places like the London Mecca of Gypsy jazz The Quecumbar and the prestigious March Manouche Festival in Wales. Be prepared to hear something different avec un accent Français!

The North Devon Journal praised Petites Annonces and said: “The beautiful swinging melodies transported us to a Parisian cafe, intimate and utterly hypnotising. The double bass set the beat to a foot tapping gypsy-jazz backdrop, with a smoky and rasping vocal that drew us in and enchanted.”
