A NINE piece authentic ska and reggae band will play the Marine Theatre in Lyme later this month.

The Simmertones, who have received national radio airplay, will play the resort theatre on Friday, November 23 at 7.30pm.

The group's single Travelling Man from the forthcoming album 10 Feet Tall has been played by Vanessa Feltz on BBC Radio 2, 6 Music, global internet Radio Shows and the Friday night show on Riviera FM.

The album is in the final mixing stage and will be released in the winter - with another single preceding it.

The Simmertones are into their 11th year and have got gigs and venues lined up.

Madness have asked them back to play on the main stage to a 6,000 strong crowd at their House of Fun Butlins Minehead gig, having received rave reviews at their appearance two years ago

The gig wil also feature DJ Ska Au Go Go, who has one of the largest reggae record collections in the south west.

During 2016/17 The Simmertones' live shows reached new heights, with appearances at The London International Ska Festival, Madness' House of Fun Weekender, and Camp Bestival.

This acclaimed ska band are frequently played on BBC Radio particularly by Jo Whiley and Steve Lamacq, who have playlisted their songs Run For Your Life, Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps and Dr Who. The Simmertones’ album Something For The Weekend? won Best Album at the South West Music Awards in 2013. The album received worldwide airplay, as well as rave reviews from Ruby Turner and members of The Specials and Madness.
