A TALK is being given tomorrow (11) about the Weymouth paddle steamer Prince and its eminent Victorian connections.

Historian Richard Clammer, the author of many books and articles on paddle steamers, will give the talk at Dorset History Centre in Bridport Road, Dorchester.

Tickets cost £10 or £8 for members and include canapés and a glass of wine.

He was instrumental in the deposit of the Cosens archive with the Dorset History Centre. Not just a researcher, Richard is a keen sailor and has a long practical involvement with paddle steamer preservation.

He has played a leading role in the Paddle Steamer Preservation Society.

This talk will focus on an iconic part of Weymouth's maritime heritage, linking it to the wider world and the important part that Cosens played in building these majestic vessels.
