BIRD of prey expert Nick Dixon is to give a talk on the fastest flying bird on the planet.

Nick, who has been professionally involved with bird of prey research and conservation since 1995, will speak about the peregrine falcons of St Michael's Church in Exeter at Bridport Arts Centre.

He has specialised in peregrine falcons nesting on built structures and in urban environments and advised at many well known urban sites across the UK.

Nick has been monitoring the peregrines at St. Michael's church in Exeter since 1997, when they first bred.

His talk includes the history and ecology of the peregrine falcon, plus the fascinating findings of 22 years studying the fastest creature on the planet.

Lisa Wilcock of Bridport Arts Centre said: “The St. Michael’s Peregrines are Devon’s most famous Peregrine falcons, because of an Eco-watch webcam in operation between 2001 and 2007. Come and hear their extraordinary story. This is a must have event for nature lovers.”
