AN EXHIBITION by a popular painter sees art taking to the skies.
Julie Oldfield of Lyme Regis will be exhibiting for the second time this year at the Courtyard Gallery at the Town Mill in Lyme Regis from August 10 to August 29 in a showcase called Radiance.
Julie’s latest series of paintings focus on skyscapes, rather than the seascapes for which she is most known. Having set a challenge to herself to explore the moodiness and unpredictability of rapidly changing skies, Julie has used experimental techniques that themselves have unpredictable results, like working on copper, aluminium and brass sheets with mixed media, heat and chemistry, in order to bring out the luminosity and radiance of her skies.
The exhibition will be open daily from 10.30am to 4.30pm, admission is free and more details can be found at the website townmillarts.co.uk.
As Julie stewards her own shows and tends to paint while she’s in the gallery, visitors are welcome to come and see the artist in action.
