A POPULAR indie folk band is performing in west Dorset on Thursday,
This Is The Kit will play the Marine Theatre in Lyme Regis on Thursday January 11, as part of the band’s international tour.
The playful indie folk band, led by Paris-based songwriter Kate Stables, has earned the adoration of peers including Guy Garvey, The National and Sharon van Etten.
In the last year This is the Kit have performed live in session on BBC 6music and at festivals including Glastonbury.
Their new album is on Rough Trade records, home to The Strokes and Jarvis Cocker.
Moonshine Freeze is undoubtedly their best to date, and is produced by PJ Harvey’s producer John Parish.
Sonically, Moonshine Freeze is a beguiling mixture of great musical sophistication and something more guileless — children’s games, incantations and snatches of nursery rhymes.
Support comes from Exeter’s Tobias Ben Jacob, playing his own blend of alt-folk - his first show of the year.
Tickets are selling like hot cakes, so please book in advance from the box office or from Bridport and Lyme Regis Tourist Information Centres.
n This is the Kit, Marine Theatre, Lyme Regis, January 11. Doors open at 7.30pm.
