AN acclaimed acoustic band will headline the Lyme Folk Weekend this summer.
Turin Brakes will return to the event as headliners on the opening night, Friday August 21 - performing at the Marine Theatre.
The band has achieved a cult-like status, selling over one million albums across the work and has a dedicated fanbase.
The group will make a welcome return to Lyme Regis, playing material from their seventh album, which is currently being recorded. Turin Brakes played at the very first Lyme Folk Weekend two years ago.
Julie Sheppard, publicist for the festival, said: "We're delighted that Turin Brakes have agreed to be the opening act this year.
"They were firm favourites with the audience when they last played here and we're expecting heavy demand for tickets when they go on sale.
"We'll be announcing more headliners in the coming weeks. Watch out for announcements on lymefolk.com and on our Facebook page."
