WEYMOUTH-BASED curry house Shalims Indian Restaurant has been pipped at the post for an industry Oscars at this years British Curry Awards.
The results were announced at The British Curry Awards, now in its 15th year. At a glittering VIP black-tie gala dinner at Battersea Evolution, the event was broadcast to more than 200 countries around the world.
Shalim Abs said: βIt was an honour to be shortlisted as one of the best restaurants in the South West in this year's British Curry awards. We were up against some very stiff competition. Sadly it was not meant to be this year, but to be nominated, shortlisted and meeting the people we met is just amazing.β
A chance encounter at the star studded night lead to Shalim being featured on Jeremy Vine's Channel 5 morning show the next day, which Shalim said was the icing on the cake to a fantastic night.
