TERRY GARLAND
Dorchester Arts Centre
March 10, 2007
Review: Lewis A Harris
A VERY interesting performance from this American musician. Terry is an up front gregarious, very strong personality! This was reflected in his style of playing with hard driving chords and rhythms.
The majority of the material played was his own complimented with several songs by well-known blues artists. This high octane, concert was tempered by the inclusion of several slow tempo ballads such as "Trouble on the Way" and "Courtesy of Love".
Some very good slide work was done on "Hardweather" where his fingers flowed up and down the fret board. His own compositions showed original chord changes and rhythms.
The evening wound up with a full on version of Willie Dixons "Wang Dang Doodle".
A good night.
