Our walks directly from the house have been many and varied and have taken us across fields of crops, past fields of cows, sheep or horses, under an old railway arch and the delightful Babington Woods to name just a few. Delightful villages a short drive away provide historic interest with even more varied walks and gastro-pubs, in particular we like the walk along the River Frome at nearby Mells. We enjoy the easy access to the city of Bath with its Roman and Georgian history, the Theatre Royal Bath, the Arts and Literary Festivals and many other attractions. In other directions we enjoy the character of both Wells and Frome that provide a great variety of shops and supermarkets. We also enjoy visiting nearby National Trust properties including Dyrham Park, Stourhead and Montacute.

We find that the house has all the convenience and warmth of a modern, well-insulated property but with the character of being built in natural stone. It is an easily maintained comfortable home, spacious, and filled with light. Underfloor heating to the ground floor and radiators to the first floor keep the house warm in winter but it also stays pleasantly cool in summer. There is a solar panel on the roof which contributes to energy saving for hot water. We greatly enjoy our peaceful garden and love to sit outside whenever possible. Our family can be easily accommodated when they come to stay and the grandchildren have particularly enjoyed the village playing field and playground, and the small lane with a bridge across the stream where they can play pooh sticks.
