The County of Dorset (Prohibition of Waiting) (Bull Lane, Maiden Newton) Variation Order 2017
Dorset County Council has made an Order under Sections 1(1) and (2), 2(1) to (3), 3(2), 4(2), 9 and 124(1)(d) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and of the Traffic Management Act 2004 and of Part IV of Schedule 1 of the Act and of Regulation 21 of Part IV of The Local Authorities’ Traffic Orders (Procedure) (England and Wales) Regulations 1996 and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with statutory requirement and in compliance with the 1996 Regulations.
When the Order comes in to operation on 17 February 2017 the effect will be to vary ‘The County of Dorset (Various Roads in the District of West Dorset) (Consolidation of Orders Made for the Regulation of Traffic) Order 2014’ to include additional ‘No waiting at any time’ restrictions on Bull Lane, Maiden Newton.
A copy of the Order together with a plan showing the length of road affected may be inspected from Monday to Friday during normal office hours at:-
Main Reception, Dorset County Council, County Hall, Colliton Park, Dorchester, and West Dorset District Council, South Walks House, South Walks Road, Dorchester.

If you wish to question the validity of the Order or any provisions contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or of any Instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order you may within six weeks of the date of this Notice apply to the High Court for that purpose.

Temporary Closure of Chilfrome Lane, Maiden Newton
DORSET COUNTY COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14 [1] of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along CHILFROME LANE, MAIDEN NEWTON from Crewkerne Road To Chilfrome Road, a distance of approximately 30 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with Health and Safety Regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to Highway Users. It will come into operation on 27th February 2017 and will remain in force for 18 months. However it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 8th March 2017.
This order will enable Wessex Water, safe access to excavate a working area to locate mains pipe to allow cross connection to be installed and reinstate in the highway.
An alternative vehicular route will be signed using; Chilfrome Lane

South Street Area, Dorchester Prohibition of Motor Vehicles and Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting Orders
Dorset County Council proposes to make two Orders under the relative Sections of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (‘the Act of 1984’) and the Traffic Management Act 2004 and of The Local Authorities’ Traffic Orders (Procedure) (England and Wales) Regulations 1996 and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with statutory requirement and in compliance with the 1996 Regulations.
Order No.1 – Prohibition of Motor Vehicles
The effect of the order will be to: 1. Revoke access to New Street and the lower section of South Street (from its junction with New Street southward to its junction with Trinity Street) to motor vehicles, except for principal wedding and funeral vehicles requiring access to the United Church.
Order No.2 – Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting
The effect of the order will be to:
1. Revoke the existing disabled parking bays in New Street and South Street.
2. Amend the ‘No waiting at any time (except Wedding, Funeral and Bullion Vehicles)’ in New Street and South Street
3. Amend the ‘No loading and unloading between the hours of 9.30am and 4.30pm’ in New Street and South Street.

The County of Dorset (Manor Farm Road, Bere Regis) (Disabled Parking Bay) (No. ) Order 201’
Dorset County Council proposes to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (‘the Act’) and the Traffic Management Act 2004 and the Local Authorities’ Traffic Orders (Procedure) (England and Wales) Regulations 1996 and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act.
The effect of the Order will be to introduce a disabled parking bay along Manor Farm Road, Bere Regis. Exemptions will permit waiting for picking up or setting down passengers, post office vehicles delivering and collecting mail, emergency service vehicles and vehicles in connection with any building or demolition operation, the maintenance of the road, the supply of gas, water or electricity and works to any telegraphic line.
This proposal is directly associated with ‘The County of Dorset ( Various Roads in the District of Purbeck) (Consolidation of Orders made for the Regulation of Traffific) Order 2014’ in that it is an amendment to that Order.
