Temporary Closure of Oakhurst Road, Ferndown
DORSET COUNCIL intend, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Section 14  of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984, as amended. All vehicles will be prohibited from proceeding along Oakhurst Road, Ferndown between the junctions of Firs Glen Road and Shaftesbury Road (in both directions), a distance of approximately 200 metres. The order is needed in order to comply with health and safety regulations, which require the provision of safe working areas and to minimise the likelihood of danger to highway users. It will come into operation on 22 November 2021 (09:00am) and will remain in force for 18 months, however it is anticipated that the works will be completed by 17 December 2021.
This Order will enable JDT Utilities agents of SGN to install and replace a gas main in the highway.
An alternative vehicular route will be signed using 1. Firs Glen Road - Oakhurst Road 2. Shaftesbury Road - Elmhurst Road - Oakhurst Lane - Oakhurst Road. The Dorset Council (Waiting, Loading, Stopping And Parking Places) (Map Based) (Whittle Road, Ferndown) (Experimental No.1) Order 2021
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of Dorset has made the above-mentioned Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended: Relevant exemptions will apply where appropriate and as necessary in accordance with the provisions of the Order.
The Order will come into operation on 3 December 2021 on an experimental basis and will introduce a length of'Waiting limited to 4 hours return prohibited within 4 hours between the hours of 8.00am and 6.00pm on a Saturday only' along a section of Whittle Road, Ferndown.
The reasons for proceeding by way of experimental order is to assess the effects of the changes before Dorset Council consider whether the provisions of the experimental Traffic Order shall continue in force indefinitely.
