NOTICE OF PUBLIC PATH ORDER TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990, SECTION 257
AND PARAGRAPH 1 OF SCHEDULE 14 PUBLIC FOOTPATH 6, PARISH OF STRATTON ST MARGARET
On 19 August 2020 Swindon Borough Council confirmed the above order.
The effect of the order as confirmed will be to divert the public footpath running from Point A at OS grid ref SU17398819 approx 20m north of the A419 boundary fence in a generally NW direction to Point B at OS grid ref SU17338867 approx 10m SW of Kingsdown Road and create alternative footpaths
i) from Point A at OS grid ref SU17398819 in a generally WNW direction for approx 200m then generally NW for approx 190m and then generally WNW for approx 110m through Point C to Point D at Kingsdown Road at OS grid ref SU17098858, approx 175m from the centre of the A419 overbridge, and
ii) from Point C approx 10m E of Point D at OS grid ref SU17108858 in a generally NE direction for approx 265m to Point B and continuing in the same general direction for approx 190m on the E side of the disused railway line at OS grid ref SU7528871
as shown on the order map.
A copy of the order and the map may be seen free of charge at the Customer Services Reception, Wat Tyler House, Princes Street, Swindon, SN12JG, from 9am to 5pm on Mondays and Wednesdays to Fridays and 9am to 4pm on Tuesdays. Copies of the order and map may be bought there at the price of £15. The order and order map can also be viewed on the public rights of way pages of the Swindon Borough Council website (

The order comes into force on the 19 August 2020 but if a person aggrieved by the order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990, as amended, or on the ground that any requirement of the Act, as amended, or any regulation made under it has not been complied with in relation to the confirmation of the order, he or she may apply to the High Court for any of these purposes under section 287 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 within 6 weeks from the date on which notice is first published as required by paragraph 8 of Schedule 14 to that Act.
