AS A mental health service user myself for many years, with a very debilitating mental illness/psychiatric disorder, and as a member of The Moving On Group, I was very perturbed by the article in the Bridport News on January 22 ‘Uncertain future for mental health group’.

As the chairman Peter Tobutt has said: ‘the agreement (for the forum to provide supervision training and insurance for Moving On) was cancelled without prior warning’.

As a charity run by and for mental health service users, the Dorset Mental Health Forum’s total failure to discuss the matter, offer support or even give warning of their intentions, seems a sad way to treat the massive effort, over the years, of Peter and his wife Jill, in running a much-valued service.

It would have been at least better received by a preparatory meeting between Moving On and the forum, also with the other mental health groups, including Sherborne and Blandford, who have also been treated in this despicable manner.

I would urge those representatives from every group to attend the Mental Health Forum`s AGM on January 26 in The Gallery, in Durngate Street, Dorchester and put your worries and concerns.
