John and Geraldine at the Ropemakers would like to thank everybody who came to the Ropemakers Birthday Bash and charity fundraiser on Sunday, August 24.

We have, with everybody’s help, made an impressive £1,918.35 for Parkinson’s UK.

We would like to extend our thanks to the bands that played, sponsors and raffle prize donators, the staff who were on duty, the staff, ex-staff and the customers who pitched in and helped when things were getting a bit hectic.

Many thanks to the courtyard crew who provided face painting, Indian head massage, nail painting and the wonderful barbecue.

Thanks to all of our customers who kindly made donations, bought raffle tickets and created a great atmosphere. All in all, we had an afternoon of superb music played by some brilliant bands combined with a generous and happy crowd which created an atmosphere of pure delight.

We have decided to do it all again next year. Many heartfelt thanks from us all, we couldn’t do it without you. John and Geraldine’s next charity effort is to do the Thames Path Challenge 25km sponsored walk on Saturday, September 13. Again in aid of Parkinson’s UK, if you would like to sponsor them, please make a donation at
