SWEET VOLLEY: Darren Watts struck to earn the Bees a point on Saturday

DARREN Watts struck home a sweet volley to salvage the Bees a point against Holt United at St Mary’s Field.
After a goalless first half, the Bulls took the lead on the hour through Chris Payne, only for Watts to level just 15 minutes later with a fine strike from the edge of the box.
Joint-Bridport reserve-team manager Steve Crabb, whose men travelled to Wey-mouth last night, said: “A draw was a fair result because it was pretty even throughout.
“After Darren had levelled, Jamie Morgan then had a shot saved with 10 min- utes remaining before one of their lads broke through and missed the target in the closing stages, so either team could have won it but a point apiece was the right outcome.
“Jamie also hit the inside of a post in the first half but they had other opportunities as well and it was just good to stop the rot after two defeats.
The game was the Bees’ third in just five days in the Magna Dorset Premier League and Crabb did think his players looked a little weary towards the end.
He added: “We went three up top at 1-0 down to get back in the game but once we equalised and went back to our normal system, we began to look tired.
