BRIDPORT boss Adam Fricker is unperturbed by his side’s fixture pile-up as the Bees prepare to face Bridgwater Town at St Mary’s Field in the Toolstation Western League Premier Division on Wednesday (7.45pm).

Fricker’s men are facing at least 17 fixtures in 60 days – more than one every four – and that tally could rise further should Bridport advance beyond the quarter-finals of the Les Phillips Cup.

Bridport are also without a game on Saturday due to Melksham Town’s FA Vase endeavours, adding to their hectic schedule.

But Fricker told the Bridport News that more matches signify a more successful season.

He said: “It’s an absolute nightmare, but I hope it’s more (games) because it means we’ve done better in the cup.

“It’s going to be interesting, but if we keep everyone fit it’s more than manageable. It’s when you start to pick up injuries it becomes difficult because you’re stretching the squad.

“We hope we can stay injury free and then utilise the lads we have got in the squad.

“I don’t think they’re too concerned. If I was a player I’d much rather be playing games than training. From their perspective it’s good to have games and hopefully if we get on a role that will do us good.”

On the challenge of Bridgwater, Fricker is wary of the Robins..

“They’re decent, they’re doing well and are in good form. They’re sixth and it’s certainly going to be a tough test for us, every game is. “We’ll just go out and do what we need to do.”

Braeden Symes (suspension) is definitely missing for Bridport.
