BRIDPORT boss Adam Fricker expects another “tight affair” with Cadbury Heath in their Toolstation Western League Premier Division clash at St Mary’s Field on Saturday (3pm).

Both sides have already contested three games this season, with Saturday’s match being their fourth meeting in four months.

Fricker feels the fixture is made tighter by the familiarity between each team.

He told the Bridport News: “We’ll know what to expect and they’ll know what to expect. It’s not too different to any other game.

“We know offensively they’re a very good side, they’ve got some very good strikers. They’ll know what our strengths and weaknesses are.

“It’s just one of those where we’ll go about the game as we normally would.”

But Fricker is also looking for a “reaction” from his players after they lost 3-2 having surrendered a 2-0 lead at 10-man Shepton Mallet last time out.

He said: “We’ve had three very close games already with them this season. It will be another tight affair.

“I’m looking for a reaction from Saturday really. The main aim for us is that we bounce back quickly and the lads do the right things. I’m sure they will because they’re an honest bunch of lads.”

With Bridport knocking Heath out of their FA Cup second qualifying round replay 3-2 after extra-time, Fricker is wary of a “revenge” mission from the visitors, but admits previous games have been played with a healthy respect.

“All the games in the FA Cup were

played in good spirit and I spoke to their manager after the last game, the relationship is pretty good.

“In extra-time it could have swung each way. They will be playing to get a bit of revenge but like anyone in the league you’re going out there to get those three points on the board,” he said.

Bridport are set to welcome Tom Richardson and Kameron Andrews back, but will be without Ed Butcher, who required five stitches to suture a deep thigh wound against Mallet.

Fricker said: “Tom will be back and Kameron will be fit. We’ll have no Ed so we just need to rethink what we do. We’ll have to shuffle the formation and see what we can do.

“We knew Kameron was going to be ruled out for a couple of weeks, but we’ll need to assess him.

“He’s been stop-start with injuries but when he’s been fit he’s been brilliant, he gives a great balance on the right.”
