BRIDPORT 0 BRISTOL MANOR FARM 4

BRIDPORT’S dismal form continued as they were on the end of a 4-0 walloping at the hands of Bristol Manor Farm at St Mary’s Field.

Despite a positive opening from the Bees, the visitors’ opening goal came through Farm striker Dean Stamp. He turned on the edge of the area and fired just past Bees’ stopper Steve Boore.

Stamp then doubled his tally to put the away side well in the ascendancy just before the break.

Following the interval, the Bees came out much brighter. Jamie Beasley crossed for Tom Blair at the far post, who volleyed against the side netting. Chris Senior then snatched at a chance when he was in the clear and put an effort well wide.

Bridport were then denied what St Mary’s Field boss Trevor Senior believed was a “stonewall penalty” after a push on Dan Peach inside the Bristol box.

Despite the hosts’ efforts, the game was then over as a contest 10 minutes from time as Jordan Matters stepped up and converted a free-kick from the edge of the area.

Frustrations then crept in and Bridport captain Chris Clarke, who had been booked, was given his marching orders for foul and abusive language by the match official. Kye Holley made it 4-0 in injury time.

Giving his view on Clarke’s sending off, manager Senior said: “The ref thought he had sworn at him but he didn’t, it was exchanges between the players.

“He is not that sort of lad really.”
