TREVOR Senior is expecting a much improved display from the Bees when they travel to Brislington this evening (7.30pm).

Beaten 4-1 at home by Cribbs last time out, Senior described that performance as “dire” and is looking for an immediate reaction.

Reflecting further on that reverse, he told Echosport: “It has to be better (tonight) than Saturday because it was dire on Saturday. The lads I’m sure will want to put that right because that wasn’t a Bridport performance, especially in the first half.

“I don’t know whether we approached it too casually. Right from when we warmed up the quality wasn’t there, it was lacklustre. There will be one or two changes and we will shake it up again.”

Senior is hoping that if Alan Hill is fit, he may be given a starting place, the same also goes for player-coach Ryan Dovell. Matt Condliffe is unavailable through work commitments.

Warren Byerley is also expected not to feature in the Bees’ squad, and is set to take a week out to work on his fitness.

Explaining that situation, Senior added: “He is at that age where he needs to be playing regularly and also training.

“His wife has just had twins so he is either helping out at home or doing long hours, he has not been able to get the gym and do the training that he would like and that he needs.

“He will probably have a week out just to try and get himself a bit fitter. I think Warren Byerley is a good asset to the side but, if he’s not even half fit he is not going to do himself justice and help us.”

Dan Peart could also be named in the Bridport squad while Josh Hadley is likely to return in goal.
