TREVOR Senior doesn’t believe in the dreaded manager of the month curse, but he would like Bridport to rekindle the form they were in before he picked up the award for his team’s exploits last November.

Last weekend’s 4-1 defeat by Cadbury Heath means the Bees have still only won once in 2015, so they will be looking for a much-needed confidence boost when Brislington visit St Mary’s Field this Saturday (3pm).

Boss Senior is desperate for his charges to find their mojo and pick up as many points as they can from the 30 that remain on offer this season.

He said: “We’ve got to keep battling. We’ve got 10 games left so there are still 30 points available. We need to get a bit of confidence back. Football is a confidence thing and we’re trying to get things back to how they were before Christmas.”

Senior has also rued Bridport’s bad luck with injuries this term, though he knows that is part and parcel of the game.

He added: “Warren Byerley has been unavailable, Matt Morley has a groin problem, Adam Symes has been out and Chris Clarke is carrying a knock.

“Shane Evans has two or three knocks, Ryan Hayter’s got a bad back, Chris Senior has had a tight hamstring and Ryan Dovell is out for the rest of the season.

“Tom Richardson had a groin strain but played for the reserves last Saturday and is back in squad this weekend. But Dan Wise is unavailable, Chris Senior has work commitments and Sean Stewart is suspended.”

Brislington are one place above the Bees in the Toolstation Western League Premier Division with two games in hand over Senior’s men.

Their last win was an 11-0 thrashing of Bishop Sutton back on Boxing Day – they have registered just one point in their four fixtures since.

Bridport and Brislington battled out a 0-0 draw when they met previously this season all the way back in September.

Meanwhile, a stunning strike from Byerley was all the Bees had to show for their efforts against Cadbury Heath last time out.

“It was a poor result,” added Senior. “We could have come in at half-time 3-1 up instead of 3-1 down, but it seems to be the way things are at the moment, we can’t take our chances and other teams can.”
