SEAN Stewart, Matt Condliffe and Chris Clarke return for Bridport this Saturday, as Trevor Senior’s charges take their five-match unbeaten run in the league to Bristol Manor Farm (3pm).

The Bees go up against a side firmly in the running for the championship, but the visitors could well be in the title mix themselves if they maintain their good form in the Toolstat-ion Western League Premier Division.

Last weekend’s 1-0 win at Slimbridge moved them to within four points of leaders Melk-sham, who lost to Street on Tuesday night.

The only downside for the Bees at the moment is Ryan Dovell’s knee injury which is likely to keep him out for the next few weeks.

Speaking ahead of the clash with the Farm, Senior said: “I said before the Slimbridge game that the fixtures up to Christmas could define our season.

“We could be in the shake-up if we get some positive results, and we can take a lot from last Saturday into this weekend.

“It was a very good performance from us. I couldn’t fault anybody and they all played to their full potential.

“It was one of those days when everything went for us.”

Tom Richardson’s third-minute header from a Dan Wise free-kick proved to be the only goal of the game at Slimbridge, as the hosts were beaten in front of their own fans for the first time in the league this season.

Bees’ boss Senior felt the visitors were fully deserving of their victory, though at one stage he feared the match might get cut short because of fog.

Bridport made the perfect start at Wisloe Road in Gloucester-shire when Richardson glanced in Wise’s cross to make it 1-0.

And the striker may have double the Bees’ lead later in the first half. Found by Warren Byerley, Richardson seemed to be held back by a couple of Slimbridge defenders before firing wide.

At the other end, Ashley Weeks saved well with his left foot to deny the hosts an equaliser.

Chances were few and far between after the break, though Richardson had a header cleared off the line and the hosts missed the target on two occasions.

Bridport sit eighth in the table, a point behind Slimbridge, Buckland Athletic and Willand Rovers.
