Uplyme celebrate at Nag’s Head

UPLYME Football Club held their annual presentation night at the club’s sponsor, the Nags Head, in Lyme Regis.
Chairman Gavin Fowler opened the evening by welcoming the players and their wives and partners. He thanked Rob and Debbie Hammon for providing food after each game and manager Rob Coombe for all his hard work.
He said it had been a memorable year - the highlight being winning the Tommy Tabberer Cup.
He also wondered if Uplyme FC is the most fertile team in the Perry Street League as during the last season five babies (Josh, Bradley, Adam, Maisie and Emily) were born to players.
Manager Rob Coombe endorsed the chairman’s words and paid tribute to Gavin Fowler on scoring his 400th Perry Street League goal.
A special tribute was paid to club president Fred Smith, who never misses a game whatever the weather.

Uplyme Reserves also held their presentation night at their sponsors – The Talbot Arms. Manager Andy Cleere thanked Steve and Wendy Garner for their support, and praised the team on winning the Bob Hall Fair Play and Sportmanship trophy for their league. Bob Hall presented the award to captain Stuart Wooster.
