BEAMINSTER School was the scene as Parrett and Axe girls ruled the roost in the second Primary School cross country event, winning both the first and second team competitions.

A score of 36 points saw the first team knock Symondsbury (48 points) off the top of the table, while St Catherine’s finished third with 49 points.

Individual medals for the girls went to L Found (Symonds- bury) in first place, B Watts (St Catherines’s) in second and A Scarborough (Parrett and Axe) in third.

The boys’ race saw a repeat from race one of the event, with the strong St Catherine’s team taking the A and B cups home.

Behind the winners, who scored 17 points, Bridport Primary School came second with 42 points and Symondsbury came in third with 69 points.

Individual medals for the boys were awarded to O Winters-Obrien (St Catherine’s), with a strong performance in first place, A Cox (Symondsbury) in second place and F Parkman (St Catherine’s) in third.

Nine schools took part in the event with a total of 159 runners from Year Four, Five and Six.

The final event of the season will be an exciting mixed team relay at the Sir John Col- fox Academy on Tuesday, March 21.
