IN-FORM trainer Harry Fry celebrated another success for his Seaborough yard, this time in the form of Misterton, who sealed bumper joy at Newton Abbot.
The 6-4 favourite got home by half a length, with Noel Fehily on board the five-year-old.
That landed Misterton’s winning connections £2,738 in prize money.
Reacting to the triumph on his official website, Fry said: “Misterton continued the fine run of the team with a well-deserved success in the closing bumper at Newton Abbot.
“A model of consistency, he put his experience to good use by determinedly seeing off a series of challengers in the closing stages.
“He was given a typically skilful ride by Noel Fehily, who escaped unscathed from a nasty fall in the previous race over fences which left him needing a new crash helmet, before he was able to weigh out.”
He added: “I was hopeful that Misterton’s turn would come in a bumper and he will now switch to hurdles in a month’s time. He has a good attitude and, while he has done plenty of schooling, he will come on a fair bit for this first run of the season.
“Noel said the horse was pricking his ears and looking around so you’d like to think there is more to come from him as learns his trade.”
