BEAMINSTER School students Robert Paget (Year Seven), Emily Chubb and Isabel Hallett (both Year Eight) took first place in their class in a schools’ dressage competition.
Other schools taking part at the Conquest Equestrian Centre came from the Bridgwater, Taunton and Exeter areas, and included Haygrove, Queens, Taunton, Kings Hall, Kings, Maynards, Plymtree and Sherborne School.
The first class was run as an individual competition.
Paget chose to ride a walk and trot test on Magic, who behaved impeccably and was very attentive and responsive.
He won his class by a clear margin of three per cent, scoring an impressive 67.6 per cent.
Hallett and Chubb chose the preliminary one test.
Hallett, riding Sophie, won her class with an impressive score of 62.63 per cent and Chubb, on Spartacus, scored 56.68 per cent and finished third.
In the second class, the group rode together as a team and Paget went first riding the preliminary seven test.
Magic was her usual calm self and they scored 62.50 per cent, putting them in first place.
Hallett rode another fine test, scoring 62.91 per cent to put her into third place, with Chubb scoring 60.00 per cent to take eighth.
With the top three scores for each team counting towards the overall placings, the Beaminster team were delighted to finish first in their class.
Kings Hall, Taunton were second and Kings School, Taunton came third behind the Beaminster trio.
