THIS year’s Saturday West Bay Junior presentation saw a host of trophies awarded for the league, which lasts from April through to October, are awarded. The overall winner was Ewan Chambers, who collected the Saturday Cup.

He also landed and the Points Trophy.

Junior secretary Roger Guppy started by thanking thanked those who had supported and helped the junior section over the year with special thanks going to the West Dorset District Council and harbourmaster for allowing use of the pier, club committee for funds, Hilary Smith for photos, Richard ‘Tiny’ Daw for bun run and paperwork, Adam Keen of Go South Coast Bus Company for supplying and driving the coach to Plymouth and the Watchouse Cafe, who which sponsors the competitions.

Further thanks were given to all the people who have given prizes and helped out throughout the year.

Saturday Cup (overall winner): Ewan Chambers, 3kg 990g.

Lambert Trophy (runner-up): James Lawrence, 3kg 33g.

Points Trophy: Ewan Chambers, 46 points.

Points Runner-up Trophy: Nathan McMaster, 40 points.

Ladies' Junior Trophy: Abbie Button, 391g.

The Hils Trophy (heaviest fish): Ewan Chambers, ballan wrasse 651g.

The Trevett Cup (heaviest flounder): Jamie Salvador-Swords, 321g.

The Tiny Cup (heaviest mackerel): Eden Lynham, 177g.

The Ben Thomas Trophy (heaviest garfish): No winner.

The Forward Trophy was presented for the junior who has shown the most promise; this year’s winner was Eden Lynham.
