BRIDPORT skateboarder Chris Oliver has been crowned the winner of the inaugural UK Dew Tour Bootcamp.

His success at the iconic Radlands Plaza skate park now sees him travel to Amsterdam to compete in the Dew Tour Am Series on August 30.

And Oliver, who has been skating for 20 years, was thrilled to take the title in Northampton last weekend.

He said: “Skating is a big part of who I am, so entering the Dew Tour Bootcamp was only natural.

“This opportunity gives me a chance to compete on the world stage and fully immerse myself in skate culture with like-minded athletes.”

Pro skaters and Mountain Dew ambassadors Nick Tucker, Boo Johnson and Keelan Dadd travelled from the US to perform demos to the crowds at the action-fuelled Bootcamp event.

Oliver was one of 75 entrants to battle it out for the first prize at Radlands, with a VIP trip to Los Angeles to meet pros from the Dew team also on offer.

Charlie Munro finished second behind Oliver, while Mark Stern and Joao Santos tied for third.

Ashley Mawhinney, Mountain Dew brand manager UK, added: “Mountain Dew is proud to be supporting the skating community in the UK and we are hugely excited to announce Chris as winner of the first ever UK Dew Tour Bootcamp.

“We wish Chris the best of luck at the upcoming Dew Tour Am Series and our fingers are crossed for a UK victory.”
