CHARMOUTH Bowls Club’s short-mat winter season drew to a close with members gathering for an end-of-season three-wood pairs competition.
The tournament was held at the usual venue, the Community Hall in Lower Sea Lane, Charmouth where players competed for the Les Hill Cup.
Jean Starke and Alan Uzzell, pictured, were the winning pair at the end of the competition.
They were congratulated by club president Ivan Marks, who also thanked vice-captain David Cruickshank for organising the event.
The cup will be presented to the winning pair at the club’s annual presentation dinner in November.
The short-mat season will end on Tuesday, April 22 and make way for the start of the outdoor bowls season, beginning with an open day on Sunday, April 27 at the Bowling Green, Barr’s Lane Recreational Ground, Charmouth (2pm).
The club welcomes any new players or novices to the game to come along and join them at the open day.
