EAST BUDLEIGH 0
LYME REGIS 2
LYME Regis made it three successive victories in Devon & Exeter Division Two, with a comfortable 2-0 triumph at strugglers East Budleigh.
And while interim boss Rob Thom was pleased to see his side keep a clean sheet at Vicarage Road, he felt the Seasiders could have possibly racked up a few more goals against the side sitting second from bottom in the league.
He told Echosport: “We were satisfied to get the first clean sheet of the season. We have defended really well in the last three games so it was deserved for the guys at the back.
“It could have been a lot more, we had some pretty good chances in the game that would have put us well out of sight.”
The Seasiders first goal came through Joe Bond, who was on the end of Adam Caddy’s flick on to convert off the inside of a post.
And shortly after half-time, Callum Larcombe played in Mark Bailey to make it 2-0 and seal the points.
The win takes Lyme into a double-header of fixtures this weekend. They host bottom of the pile Culm United in league action on Saturday (3pm) before travelling to Bampton in the Bill Slee Cup on Sunday (2.30pm).
Thom added: “It’s not ideal but most people seem to be keen on being available, it’s just a case of how we manage their legs really.”
