HENRY’S CRONIES 3 LYME REGIS 0

THE Seasiders had no answer to new Devon & Exeter Division Two leaders Henry’s Cronies, going down to a 3-0 defeat at Broadclyst.

Without first-choice keeper Chris Higgs, who was serving a one-game ban, Lyme were undone by goals from Jamie Fanson, Marcus Fanson and Harry Rogers.

The Cronies’ three points saw them go above former table-toppers University Thirds, whose clash with Exmouth Town Reserves fell to the weather.

On a day when Chulmleigh rattled in 18 unanswered goals against lowly Culm United, Lyme couldn’t find a way through the Cronies’ rearguard.

The hosts recorded their 10th win in 11 league fixtures this term and their second on successive Saturdays.

Lyme caretaker boss Rob Thom and his team will go again this Saturday when they host Dawlish United at Davey Fort (2.15pm).

The Seasiders are yet to appoint a replacement for Tim Edwards, who stepped down as boss earlier in the season, with Thom likely to remain in charge until the end of the campaign.

In Division Seven, Lyme’s reserves, firmly in the hunt for promotion, travel to Central (2.15pm), while Lyme Bantams, one off the bottom in the Perry Street Premier Division, entertain second-placed Beaminster (2pm).
