TIM Edwards will have five first-team regulars missing for Lyme Regis’ Bill Slee Cup tie at home to Tedburn St Mary on Saturday (2.30pm).

Joe Bond, Mark Bailey, Will Mowbray, Sam Jones and Rhys Hayter are all unavailable, meaning boss Edwards has got to call on Lyme’s reserves for cover.

But Edwards knows that with the reserves and Lyme Bantams in action this weekend, the unavailability in his ranks is going to have a knock-on effect for the club’s other teams.

“We should have enough to put out a good starting XI,” he said. “I’ll take some of the lads from the reserves but it is the first time this season our three teams are playing so it’s going to stretch us a bit.

“Some of the lads played for the reserves on Tuesday and some were playing for the Bantams last night so they should be up to speed.”

Lyme beat a showbiz XI 9-1 last weekend as they gained revenge for an 8-4 defeat to the visitors last season.

Joe Bond grabbed a couple of goals for the Seasiders in a one-sided affair at Davey Fort.

A trip to Langdon Reserves in the Geary Cup awaits Lyme’s second string this Saturday, while the Bantams host Netherbury in the Perry Street Premier Division.
