LYME Regis will be hoping it is third time lucky this Saturday as they finally try to open their account for 2015.

The Seasiders’ first two matches of the new year, away at Thorverton Reserves and Pinhoe respectively, were called off due to waterlogged pitches.

With Lyme not seeing any action last weekend, title rivals Henry’s Cronies were able to leapfrog them in the Devon & Exeter League Division Three table.

Now sitting third in the standings, Tim Edwards’ side go to Clyst Valley Reserves on Saturday (2.15pm) to play a team they thrashed 8-0 in November.

Lyme remain five league games unbeaten although they last played on December 20 when they drew 2-2 at Henry’s Cronies.

Clyst are also yet to complete a game this year. After one postponement, their last outing against Axmouth United was abandoned 29 minutes in because of a serious injury.

Elsewhere last Saturday, Beaminster were emphatic 7-0 winners against Ilminster Colts in the Perry Street Premier Division, while Lyme Regis Reserves won 2-0 at Combe Reserves.

This Saturday sees Beaminster host Crewkerne Town (2pm), Lyme’s reserves don’t have a fixture, and Lyme Bantams entertain Farway United at Davey Fort in Division One (2pm).
