LYME Regis boss Tim Edwards says there is no reason why the Seasiders cannot get something from their top-of-the-table clash in Exmouth on Saturday.

However, he knows his side must improve their finishing if they want to complete a league double over Exmouth Town Seconds (2.15pm).

Lyme, who drew 3-3 against Thorverton Seconds last weekend, won the reverse fixture at Davey Fort in September and currently sit seven points behind Town in Devon & Exeter League Division Three with two games in hand.

And although the Seasiders have scored 10 times in their last two outings, Edwards wants them to be a lot more clinical to maintain their push for top honours.

“We beat Exmouth at home earlier in the season and I see no reason why we can’t get something from Saturday’s match,” said Edwards, who will be without Dom Rowe and Kieren White.

“We just have to be a lot better than we were last weekend and put away more of the chances we create.

“I have got plenty of strength in depth in my squad and if the ball drops our way in front of goal we will be fine.”

Lyme had to rely on an injury-time strike from Joe Bond to rescue a point against Thorverton.

They had trailed 2-0 before goals from Julien Simier, pictured, and Declan Ellis hauled them level with 13 minutes left.

Thorverton appeared to have snatched the win when they went 3-2 up in the first minute of added time, but Bond salvaged a draw at the death.

Elsewhere this Saturday, following a 1-0 defeat to South Petherton in the Coronation Cup, Lyme Regis Reserves are away to Crewkerne Town in the Perry Street League Premier Division.

Lyme Bantams, coming off the back of a 9-2 hammering by Barrington in the Division One Cup, host Forton Rangers in the league.
