LYME Regis will begin life in Division Three of the Devon & Exeter League with a home game against Woodbury on August 23.

Their first away fixture of the new campaign follows four days later when they go to Axminster Town Seconds.

Tim Edwards and his men, who left the Perry Street League earlier this summer, began their pre-season friendlies last week with a 4-1 win over Combe St Nicholas.

They went to Netherbury in the first round of the Edwards Charity Cup last night before going to Seaton for another friendly next Tuesday.

Lyme’s final warm-up match is scheduled to be at Upottery on August 19 with the league campaign getting underway that weekend.

Meanwhile, a Showbiz XI including Mer-lin actor Bradley James beat a Seasiders Select XI 8-4 at Davey Fort last Satur- day.

A Lyme Regis FC Select XI hosts the Arsenal Charity XI on August 24, with a number of activities for the family also going on throughout the day (10.30am-7.30pm).
