BOSS Rob Thom praised his players after Lyme secured a coveted spot in the top four with a 4-2 victory over Combe St Nicholas on the final day of the season at Davey Fort.
The hosts scored four goals in a match of fluctuating fortunes, and Thom, who became the ninth keeper to be utilised by Lyme this season, was delighted with the result and accompanying performance.
He said: "Considering we had players out of position we played some excellent football in a spirited match.

"It was a good end to an indifferent season and ensured we remained unbeaten for our final five games.
He added: "I enjoyed my stint in goal - maybe it is something I could consider doing in the future."
Lyme dominated from the start and several chances were spurned in the opening exchanges with Stuart King twice hitting the woodwork.
At the other end, the experienced Alistair McLennan and Luke Clifton marshalled the back four well, and keeper Thom made an excellent save from an effort destined for the top corner.
Lyme took a deserved lead after half an hour when Mike Legg broke free to supply a cross for Gerard Hitchcock, who tucked the ball home.
And Dominic Rowe extended their advantage after the keeper misjudged a long ball.
However, the second goal sparked Combe into life and they reduced the deficit when a quality cross from the left was headed past Thom.
The hosts restored their two-goal lead when King finally converted one of his many chances, but Combe scored again with a superb strike into the top corner.
Just when Lyme may have been looking jittery, substitute Will Thomson grabbed the fourth goal to seal the three points and sign off with a win.
