ST CATHERINE’S Primary School continued their reign as the strongest of the West Dorset primary schools taking part in this year’s exciting relays challenge at the Sir John Colfox Academy.

Winning both the A and B cups for the second year running, in the year four, five and six age group, the four-strong teams comprised of two boys and two girls, took first and fourth places out of the 24 teams entered.

In this event, each team member completes the 1,200m course before tagging their team-mate who is waiting in the changeover pen. Symondsbury A took second place and Bridport Primary School A were third.

In the newly-introduced Year Two and Three category. St Catherine’s were also the winners with Beaminster St Mary’s and Symondsbury close behind. Overall 30 teams took part and enjoyed a great afternoon.
