FRESHWATER Holiday Park will play host to an evening of boxing entertainment on Saturday.

The event, organised by the Bridport Amateur Boxing Club, is expected to have between 14 and 16 bouts of excitement and will start at 7.30pm.

There will be food and a bar open, and there will also be two raffles, with the second being a £5 raffle where you could win a TV, which was donated by the Managing Director of AJ Supplies.

The evening will see four boxers from Bridport take part with Spike Armstrong, Shane Webb, Ben Pascoe and Blake Davies among the fighters.

Boxers will be coming from as far as Coventry, Portsmouth, Truro plus Cambourne and Redruth and a big turnout is expected.

The bouts will range from schoolboys, juniors and seniors on the evening and tickets can be bought on the door for £15.

Slaney highlighted the super heavyweight fight, which will see a fighter from Truro and take on another from the heart of Portsmouth.

The Bridport Boxing Head Coach has heard a lot about the two boxers so will enjoy the chance to watch them, having never come across them before as a referee.

Slaney said: “Come and have an enjoyable night. If you like boxing then I’m hoping you will have a great evening.

“We just want to make sure everyone goes home happy afterwards, if I know they’ve had an enjoyable night then that makes me happy.”
