BRIDPORT go into Saturday facing a tough trip to third-placed Melksham Town in the Toolstation Western Premier Division (3pm).

The Bees have a new lease of life after turning around their torrid form, and manager Adam Fricker insists that the pressure is very much on the opposition this weekend.

He said: “We’re feeling confident. It’s going to be a tough game but we’re looking forward to it.

“They’ve got a new stadium up there which is meant to be an impressive facility so we’re looking forward to going up there and seeing what we can do.

“Melksham are a good footballing side with some good players. Offensively they’re very strong but we also know we can score goals against any team.

“We’ll just go up there and try to be defensively strong, but look to get at them as well.

“I think it’s a bit of a free swing. The pressure is on them but we’ll still go up there to be competitive.”

Fricker spoke of the confidence his squad have after ending their losing run, and the manager is feeling optimistic for the rest of the season.

He said: “It’s certainly given everyone a lift, but more so it’s just revitalised the lads and taken the pressure off them a bit.

“It’s almost pulled us away from the bottom four and means we can relax a bit when we’re playing.”

Bridport are set to be without Andy Martin, Leigh Bailey and Oscar Latas for Saturday’s game, while new signing Scott Holland is expected to feature.
