ADAM Fricker feels a mid-table finish is his side’s main target for the season as the Bees near the halfway point in their Toolstation Western Premier Division campaign.

Bridport sit 16th after 17 games in the standings with four wins and four draws to their name.

Taking stock on his first six months in the job, Fricker said: “We’re happy to be honest.

“We’ve lost key players at times when we were picking up momentum.

“Some of the lads have stepped up from the First Division and they’ve been excellent, which is pleasing.

“So has the attitude of the current players and their performances have really pleased me.

“It bodes well for next season and the second half of the season.”

Asked what his targets were for the rest of the campaign, Fricker explained: “I think we have to look at mid-table.

“We’d like to be in the top 10. If you look at the league then I don’t think that is out of our reach.

“It’s achievable and it’s about stringing some results together and getting some consistency with the players we have out there and strengthening the competition we have out there.”

Speaking about his time with the Bees, he added: “Bridport is the second management job I’ve had and it has shown me what great support you have behind the scenes.

“The professionalism was a bit of a shock and it took me aback.

“It’s really impressed me and it’s made things easier.”

Bridport take on Chipping Sodbury Town at home on Saturday (3pm).
