BRIDPORT assistant-manager Paddy Behan doesn’t want his side to get carried away as they look for their third win a row on Saturday (3pm) when they travel to Longwell Green Sports.

The Bees stunned fellow Western League side Odd Down (Bath) last weekend when they won 5-1 in the Les Phillips Cup and Behan is hoping the players can take that form into this weekend’s fixture.

He said: “I think the players are feeling more comfortable. We don’t want to get carried away with it as it’s just two wins.

“It’s good for them. I think we knew what we are going to do last week and we did that. We took our chances and that’s the most important thing.

Behan added: “Looking at Longwell, they either win or they lose heavily. Hopefully on Saturday they lose heavily again.

“We’re probably not going to make too many changes, which doesn’t happen very often.

“Everybody looks fit and up for it and we are looking forward to it.”

Longwell sit two places and two points above the Bees in the league standings and their form has picked up in recent weeks.

They have won three of their last four games – albeit two of them coming in cup competitions – but Behan believes these are the type of games Bridport should be winning.

He explained: “At the start of the season we marked these sort of games out as ones we were looking for points from.”

A game they weren’t expected to win was on Saturday against Odd Down in the Les Phillips Cup.

They took a 4-0 lead thanks to braces from Ed Butcher and Mark Salter after 36 minutes of clinical football from the visitors.

Simon Gilbert pulled a goal back for the hosts before Braeden Symes rounded off the scoring late on.

Bridport will now face a trip to Willand Rovers in the next round. That game will take place on Saturday, November 19.
