PADDY Behan believes that the Bridport squad are capable of clicking into gear and increasing their points tally in the coming weeks.

The Bees’ assistant-manager, who arrived at the club with boss Adam Fricker in the summer, also labelled Saturday’s crunch Western League Premier Division clash at Hallen (3pm) as a “massive game” for the club.

Bridport, who may still add to their ranks this week before Saturday’s game, have not won in 10 in all competitions and are coming off the back of a two-week break.

But Behan is happy with what he has seen from the players in training and has faith that they can start turning performances into victories.

He said: “I think the performances have been there and we would be a little bit concerned if they weren’t.

“I think we will get there. They (the players) are willing to work and are an honest bunch of lads.

“We need to get some points on the board. Fricks and I looked at it at the start of the season and realised we had a really hard start in terms of the sides we were playing.

“We sort of set a target of having 12 points at this stage at 11 games. We are a little bit shy of that but I think, if it clicks, we will get some confidence.”

Looking ahead to the clash with Hallen, where both sides have just one league win so far, Behan added: “It’s a massive game. We have already said it’s our biggest game of the season really.

“We have to go there and get three points, I don’t care what anyone says.”

Bridport’s Lewis Rutter is suspended and George Chlopecki looks like he could be out long term with a knee injury. Ryan Hayter is expected to be able to feature and Andy Martin is in contention.
