LEE Bowditch finished second in the Olympic Skeet Home International at the Lispopple Clay Target Club near Dublin in Ireland.
It was Bowditch’s 17th appearance at the competition shooting for England, and for the first time he was in the veterans’ class.
The Beaminster shooter was up against nine shooters from the British Isles.
After a competitive contest, Bowditch finished on the podium as English counterpart Frank Miller took the spoils.
There was also a team award and with Bowditch shooting superbly, England’s team – made up of scores from the junior, ladies, veteran and super veteran sides – won the overall award.
The England senior team also won their class. The overall High Gun was won by Northern Ireland’s Gareth McAuley after a shoot-off with England’s captain Andrew Lea and David Dale.
