BRIDPORT boss Trevor Senior has revealed that goalkeeper Ashley Weeks has left the club.

The former Portland United goalkeeper arrived at St Mary’s Field in August 2014.

Without Weeks, the Bees are set to travel to Buckland Athletic on Saturday (3pm).

Speaking about the keeper’s departure, Senior said: “Unfortunately Ashley Weeks has left the club.

“We had a bit of a disagreement over availability to help the reserves and there was a bit of confusion over whether he was fit or not.

“While I’m manager of the club he doesn’t want to play for Bridport again so he has left.

“It was maybe a clash of personalities and he’s decided to leave the club.

“He was player of the year for us last year and I wish him well. It doesn’t always work out.”

Speaking ahead of the Saturday’s encounter, Senior added: “Buckland are flying high and were runners-up last year.

“It is always a tough game at their place.”

In the reverse fixture between the two sides back in August, the Bees sealed a 1-0 victory at St Mary’s Field thanks to a goal from Warren Byerley.

Victory for Senior’s men would not only give them a league double over Buckland but would also end a run of four games without a win.
